Dr Karen Yap is a Consultant
Breast and General Surgeon. She is practicing at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital and was previously from the National Cancer
Centre.
Dr Yap graduated from the Medical School of the National University of Singapore in
1994, trained in General Surgery in Singapore and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Royal College
of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. She has completed a breast fellowship at the Ontario Cancer Institute, Princess Margaret
Hospital, University of Toronto.
She received her Specialist Accreditation in General Surgery
in 2002 and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. Dr Yap has numerous publications in international journals.
Dr Yap specialises
in Breast Surgery, including mammotome biopsy, sentinel node biopsy and oncoplastic techniques. Behind her youthful looks
lie years of training and experience in dealing with diseases of the breast. As a lady surgeon, Dr Yap understands and appreciates the place and role that the
breasts have in a lady’s image and self-esteem.
